We had so much fun with Rowan getting ready for Christmas!!! We took him to Anthem to see the big tree and shop, zoo lights with his cousins, aunts and uncles and Oma and Grandpa and a few other fun places just walking around and enjoying the outdoors!! What a special time of year, and so much more fun to share it with a baby!! Here are a few pictures from December that we love!!

Can't wait til next year when he understands Christmas a little bit more!!

Uncle Chuck Comes to Visit-- November 2012

I am a little behind posting this, since my Uncle was here for Thanksgiving, but hey, better late than never right? :) It was nice to have him in town to meet all the babies! He was here for Genevieve's baptism, but hadn't met Liam or Rowan yet, so it was fun for him to see all three together! Here are some pics from when he came to see Rowan at our house!

We had a good time!! Thanks for coming to visit us Uncle Chuck!!

Eyes and Neck... questions answered!!

Ok, so in Rowan's two month stats I mentioned that he had some vision and neck concerns.. I am here to tell you that we have answers... and easy ones!!

NECK:
Poor little dude has tortecollis... a condition were the neck muscles on one side of the neck (Rowan's right side) are tight, so he consistently leans to his left and HATED putting his head to his right. We went to a specialist and he was diagnosed with tortecollis and we were put on every three week therapy sessions, plus a bunch of neck exercises to do at home about ten times a day! It's been a lot of work (and tears (on mommy's behalf... haha)), but he is really coming along!!!

Look at me holding my head up!!!!!

VISION:
Rowan went to an opthomologist about a month ago and THANK THE LORD, he does not have any structural damage to his beautiful eyes... he is now tracking objects from side to side (when he wants to, he is a bit stubborn like Mommy :))... He also will move his head to his "bad side" to watch a toy... so proud of him!! He is working so hard!!!

We just love our little man!!

Catching Up!!

WOW!! Can't believe I haven't posted about our little man for over a month!! Ok, in my defense... other than having a three month old... blogger quickly became a pain in the rear and is now charging me to add more picture storage... lame sauce!! But, alas, I want my lil blog, so I bit the bullet for more space!! Now I need to catch up about Rowan....

I will go back with pictures post by post, but I will leave you with this:

LOOK HOW BIG HE IS GETTING!!
So stinkin adorable in his hat from Nama and Grandpa Schlumpf!

More to come!! Stay tuned...

2 Month Dr. visit and stats

Rowan had his two month appointment today!! He is growing so much (well for his size anyway..) and we just love watching how much bigger he is at each appt!!

Currently:
- Weight- 10 lbs. 1 oz. (7th percentile).... SO STINKIN SMALL!!! He is big to us, but next to other two monthers, he is tiny!!! What a lil peanut!

- Height- 22inches (SO LONG!!) (22nd percentile... but long for his size!)

- Head- 14.96 inches (18th percentile)- again, TINY... but so darn cute!!

The Doctor appointment went fairly well... we have a couple concerns for out little booger that needed to be addressed:

1. SUPER goopy eyes... he has had this since birth (clogged tear duct)... but it has been looking worse lately (stuck shut in mornings) and I am wiping them a hundred times a day!! I found out the other day that I have a viral infection in my eyes, so I am guessing he does too. Dr. prescribed him drops... but told us not to start them for a few days to see if it clears up on its own first.

2. Not tracking objects with vision the way he should at two months- Rowan has his own little personality for sure! He is going to look at what he is going to look at when he wants to look at it!!! (sounds like Mommy...:)) He does look at objects, but doesn't follow them.. which concerns Tyler and I. The Dr. tried it at the office too and wants us to go have his eyes dialated by an opthomologist to make sure he doesn't have any vision issues (just what a mommy wants to hear :( )... she thinks he is probably fine, but wants to rule out any issues... going to see one next week.

3. Neck muscles on one side underdeveloped- We think Rowan's head was stuck to one side for a while in my tummy, so his neck muscles on one side are immature. He HATES to put his head to that side and really only sleeps with it to the right... Therefor he is not doing well with tummy time (can't really lift head) and is starting to get a flat spot on his lil head. Dr. says we need to see physical therapist for this... another Dr. appt next week! They should be able to give us exercises to do with him that will strengthen his neck so he can lift it higher and turn it easier. The flat spot they won't address until it gets much worse or he is 6 months old. Sometimes the head corrects itself and maybe once we get the neck muscles going his head will round out too!

Other than that, he had a good appt! I will have to update again next week after all our new appointments!!

WE LOVE HIM!!!
