Four Months!!

We can hardly believe that Rowan is four months old! He is getting so big! I look at all his preemie newborn clothes and can hardly remember how small he was!! He has his four month Dr. appointment today at 1pm so I will add more stats to this post later today!

What's New:

- Rowan is SO active!! He loves to kick and turn to his side, reach for toys put EVERYTHING in his mouth!

- He has started this new thing where he can make a complete 360 in his crib throughout the night! We start him off in one direction, and by the AM he is the complete opposite way! Funny little guy!

- Still not a good sleeper... he LOVES to be awake and see everything that is going on... hardly a dull moment with this little guy! Down to 2 naps instead of 3 and those naps are pretty darn short! 

- Still up atleast 2-4 times per night... wants his pacifier (usually) or is hungry (eats a TON!)... currently he is going down at 7pm, then usually up at about 12:30am and 4:00am... super fun for Mommy!!

- Quite the eater! I will be interested to see today how much he weighs (last check a few weeks ago he was 12 lbs)... I am guessing he is up a couple! He eats 6oz about every 3 hrs during the day... :)

- So tall!! He is busting through all his 3 month footies... he is still lean, but tall (just like daddy) so it is a challenge to dress this little one!

- BIG hands and feet! He is wearing 12-24 month socks... we can hardly believe how big his little mits are either!! Maybe he will be a tall one!

- SO loving and happy... he loves to smile at you when you catch eye contact with him.. his new thing is to giggle when you walk with him up the stairs with someone behind watching... it's so funny and super cute!

- Passive demeanor.. he likes things CALM.. doesn't like too much noise or over stimulation.. he gets super angry and screams when there is too much going on... that is like mommy... I hate to be in real loud places!

- Holding his head up like a champ!! He is so good now at holding it up.. can sit in his bumbo with no supports, tummy time is becoming a lot easier for him! We are so proud of him!

- Starting to roll!! Not totally from tummy to back or vice versa, but he can go from side to side... he smiles so big when he does it!

- Therapy going well! He is improving so much with his neck.. still left side dominant.. we are really working on reaching with his right hand and opening his fingers to grab things... he prefers the left!

- We just LOVE him... he is the light of our lives...  :)

A Few January Favorites..

Rowan is a growin!! He is getting so big so fast, we can hardly believe it! He has been so much fun to watch the past few weeks as he discovers more and more each day!

He has his four month Dr. appointment on the 28th, so I will give more of his stats then, but for now I just wanted to post some more current pictures of our little love!!

Rowan's Baptism Weekend January 13, 2013

Rowan was baptized this past Sunday and it was so special!! His Godparents (My dad, Kyle and Roz) came in as well as Nama and Grandpa Schlumpf and we had a great weekend! My sisters and I were all baptized as infants and it was so wonderful to watch Rowan go through it also (he was actually born on my baptism day (September 27)... so special!

Uncle Kyle came in a few days early and spent some time with us, it was fun to have him and for him to meet little Rowan!

Rowan doesn't smile too much yet, but he loved his Uncle Kyle!

Then Friday afternoon Auntie Roz came in: She LOVES Rowan... he loves her too (maybe not at first, she scared him a bit with her enthusiasm.. haha)... but Rowan learned to love her spunk and they quickly became buddies!!

Then came the Grandparentals on Friday night... Rowan loves them and had a great time playing with them for the short time they were here!

Three Months!!

Our little man turned three months in December!! We can't believe what a big boy he is becoming and are loving watching all his little faces, smiles and personality!! Here are a few pics I took of him on his chair from his nursery...

Three Months:

- Eats ALL THE TIME!! Always hungry but can't stomach more than 4 oz a sitting... so we are feeding him every two hours!! He is definitely getting some cheeks!!

- GROWING and GROWING!! He is currently a little over 24 inches long and weighs about 12 pounds... still in the lower percentile for his age (19th for weight, but 55th for height!) Our little string bean!! He is becoming harder and harder to dress (so is his father, ha!) long and lean!!

- LOVES to play with his light up toys... he puts out a huge smile when we play with his toys on the floor mat.... always watching intently at what is going on (also like his daddy!)

- Can hold up his head and part of upper body during tummy time!! Doing such a great job!! Kicks his little legs a ton... bet he will be on the move sooner than we think!! Such an active little guy! 

- Sleeping more and more through the night! Currently goes down at 7pm and wakes up about 3-4am for food... hey we are going places here!! :) Can't wait til it's a little longer.. ;)

- Happy demeanor and so stinkin adorable!! We just LOVE him so much!!

Christmas 2012

Christmas was so memorable this year with Rowan... I loved taking him to his first Christmas Eve service, opening his first Christmas presents, and singing his first Christmas Carols to him... (yes, I realize this was more for mommy than Rowan at this stage!) I can't wait to start some Christmas traditions with him when he gets a little bit older!

Nama and Grandpa Schlumpf came to be with us for Christmas, it was so nice having them here, they hadn't seen Rowan since he was 5 weeks old! Such a big change! It was fun watching him interact with them and smile at them... special memories!

We spent Christmas Eve with my family starting with church at 4:30 pm (weird, it was still light out!), and then snacks and pj's at my mom and dad's house afterwards (something my sisters and I have done our whole lives)... how cool it was to see our kids now sitting around the snacks instead of us.. well I mean with us!! So fun.

Christmas Day we went back to my parents house for breakfast and gifts!! The babies had a fun day, and we were exhausted by the end of it!! All in all a very Merry Christmas and lots of special memories!
